Higher Minimum Wage Isn't Charity, It's Sensible

The most efficient way to directly help the poor, without a penny being siphoned off in salaries or overhead inherent in government and charitable programs (which we all support), is to increase the minimum wage. This increase would go directly into the pockets of those who need it.

Who benefits? Teenage workers whose labor eases the home front, parents taking second jobs to support families, and seniors who go back to work to survive.

Yes, we will all pay a tad more for this or that purchase, as businesses pass along the added expense, but we pay one way or the other. Why not pay in a way so that all of what we pay reaches those who need it?

Not a gift or charity, this is wages earned from honest labor, paid to those willing to work. Every dollar eventually is returned to the local economy.
